Luxury Living In Prime London Residences

Posted 17 December 2020 by Keith Osborne

We have a taste of some of the outstanding big-budget new homes currently available in prime areas of the capital...

While there’s been a lot of news about people moving out of city homes to find a new one with more space indoors and outside, there is still demand for homes in London, not least in some of its most prestigious addresses.

Though beyond the budget of most of us, it can be fun to look at ‘how the other half lives’ with some high-end homes, and we’ve recently received news about some.

There are just a few apartments still available at The Mansions at Wimbledon Hill Park, situated on Copse Road in south-west London a built by recent Gold award-winning Berkeley. They are set in beautiful landscaped gardens, close to Wimbledon Village and within reach of a number of excellent schools.

At the start of December, the housebuilder’s team gathered to mark the completion of the striking clocktower at the development. Its architectural design mirrors that of the refurbished Victorian mansion which has been converted into a range of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments.

Paul Vallone, divisional managing director at Berkeley St Edward, commented: “The completion of the clocktower marks one of the last milestones of this development. It is the centrepiece of The Mansions and gives further character to this flagship scheme. This is a development that celebrates Wimbledon’s heritage with a great mix of traditional and contemporary homes set around an important historic building and complemented by plenty of green open spaces.”

Ready to move into and offering residents’ facilities including a concierge, gym and cinema room, the remaining homes range from £799,000 to £1.6million. There’s a show home open daily to view by appointment.

82 Mount Street82 Mount Street

Right in the heart of Mayfair, there’s an ‘ultra-prime’ collection of apartments set to launch at 82 Mount Street. The development from specialist luxury developer REDD has a ground floor entrance lobby for the homes, a luxury-brand ground floor retail boutique, lower ground floor offices and five upper floors which accommodate two-bedroom lateral apartments and a three-bedroom duplex penthouse.

Russell Smithers, managing director of the REDD operation in London said: “82 Mount Street is REDD’s first multi-unit boutique residential scheme in London so we anticipate a lot of interest in the project.”

With a unique blend of Continental and English influences, with interiors by 1508 London which have been inspired by former Mayfair resident Coco Chanel, each of the apartments has a dramatic entrance hall with black veined marble flooring with metal inlay details. The spacious living and dining room has timber flooring in a herringbone weave pattern, with a marble border and metal inlay. There are tall sash windows, a marble fireplace, bespoke furniture, feature lighting and integrated home automation. These homes come with kitchen fitted with marble worktops, bespoke cabinets and Gaggenau appliances.

The luxurious principal bedroom suite has a walk-in dressing room with timber flooring with metal inlay to the border and a white marble main bathroom with suite by Samuel Heath with rainforest shower. The guest bedroom is lined with built-in wardrobes and an en suite with Nero marble flooring. The duplex penthouse has living and entertaining areas on one level with a grand master suite covering the entire upper floor.

One Casson SquareOne Casson Square

One Casson Square, one of Southbank Place’s tallest and most striking landmark buildings, a three-bedroom show apartment is set to launch which has been fully dressed by multi award-winning interior design studio, Elicyon. It is situated on the 31st floor and features wraparound floor-to-ceiling windows offering uninterrupted vistas of the London skyline, with each room designed to maximise direct views onto the River Thames, London Eye, Houses of Parliament, St. Paul’s Cathedral and City of London.

Elicyon has incorporated materials, textures and colours that speak to the local area’s history. The colour palette has been chosen to create a warm and welcoming ambience, combining soft neutral colours, autumnal burnt oranges and ochres, flashes of gold and calming dark teal. The apartment features a range of bespoke furniture pieces and specially commissioned artwork.

Brian De’ath, director of residential sales at Southbank Place, commented: “The launch of the first in-situ show apartment is an exciting next step for One Casson Square. With only a small number of apartments remaining, the opening of the show apartment is crucial to showcase the level of quality and finish on offer at the development. The bespoke designs really bring out the special aspects of the remaining upper floor apartments.”

Residents benefit from exclusive access to a 18,000-sq-ft health and fitness facility, designed in the style of a five-star hotel spa by interior specialists, Goddard Littlefair. There’s a private residents’ lounge, flexible space providing business facilities, meeting facilities, relaxation space, screening room and multi-function area. At times, parts of this facility will be available to residents on a bookable basis for private events.
