Young Family Upsizes To Wembley Rental Apartment
Loide and Joao Azinheiro first moved into Quintain Living in April 2019, renting a two-bedroom apartment in Landsby. Then, in January 2021, with the newest addition to the family, Benjamin, they moved into a three-bedroom apartment in Canada Gardens, another Quintain Living development at Wembley Park.
Originally from Portugal, the couple have delighted in the sense of community they’ve found at Quintain Living. Little Benjamin (Benji) – now two-years-old – is thriving in the 15-minute neighbourhood of Wembley Park. His nursery (the new, flagship Canopy Nursery on the ground floor of Quintain Living’s Madison building), swimming lessons at the Hilton London Wembley’s pool, and weekly football sessions are all an easy walk from his apartment. Benji and mum Loide have both made friends through nursery and are enjoying the local community spirit.
The family’s move to Canada Gardens was inspired by a number of things. Canada Gardens’ social spaces was one. The development is home to a pirate ship-themed children’s play area and water feature, an acre of private podium gardens awash with garden-party design features like outdoor kitchen entertainment spaces and BBQs, a huge roof terrace and a serviced clubhouse. There are hireable resident allotments, designer work-from-home garden sheds and a beautiful indoor playhouse.
Canada Gardens is the ideal setting for family life and the children’s spaces in particular appealed to Loide and Joao. Benji loves the pirate ship playpark, as well as the indoor playhouse when the weather is more British than Portuguese! When the sun is out, he also loves the splash pool in Union Park (next to Canada Gardens, Union Park is home to paddling ponds, a playpark, wildlife pond, urban meadow, and more).
Working from home also played into the couple’s decision to move, as they switched from a two-bedroom apartment to one with three bedrooms. The third bedroom serves as an office for Joao, while Loide works in Marylebone (a 15-minute journey on the Tube). She is moving to work in Moorgate soon and her commute will be just as easy along the Metropolitan line running from Wembley Park Tube station. Loide and Joao have both worked from the Canada Gardens clubhouse too, remarking on how nice the environment is there with an abundance of indoor planting, comfy sofas and a cosy fireplace.
For Loide and Joao, Quintain Living is their first experience of living in a Build to Rent development where the homes are managed by a professional landlord and offer a host of on-site amenities such as gyms, social spaces, WFH areas, concierge and events.
Loide commented: “I'm only sad I cannot buy it as I really enjoy living here! The apartments are amazing and having a concierge makes our lives much easier.”
The couple are also delighted with the wider Wembley Park area. Loide loves all the new, appealing developments that are appearing, while the CCTV and well-lit boulevards make her feel safe and confident, even when walking on her own at night. The area also feels very safe for Benji to run around in and to zoom on his scooter.
Life with Quintain Living comes with plenty of added extras. Loide checks the resident app daily and uses it to sign up for the events that Quintain Living arranges for residents. So far, she has joined Pilates and yoga classes, art and painting lessons, and baking classes with local artisan bakery Bread Ahead.
