Jenna Rickner and her fiancé Reece Jordan had plenty to celebrate after moving into their new home at Taylor Wimpey's Church View development in Hoo.

Reece made the day they moved into their new home even more special by proposing to Jenna, who was taken completely by surprise. He said: “Moving into our new home was such an exciting day and I wanted to make it one we will always remember.”

Jenna (26) and Reece (29) had been living with Jenna’s mum and stepdad whilst saving for their first house and found everything they were looking for in the two bedroom ‘Canford’ house type at Church View. The couple moved into their new home in September 2020 and have settled into life in the Hoo community.

Jenna said: “We hadn’t thought about buying a new build initially as we thought it might be over our budget, but after discussing incentive options with the team at Taylor Wimpey, it started to seem possible. After researching developments in our area, we found that Church View was perfect for us.”

Commenting on their new home, Reece said: “Church View looked like a welcoming community and as soon as we saw the plans of the ‘Canford’ we knew it was the house for us. Our home is away from the main roads and faces the park which is ideal as it feels nice and peaceful.”

Jenna added: “The Church View team couldn’t have been more helpful throughout the whole process. Our completion date was delayed due to the pandemic but it actually worked in our favour as it meant we could save more money. We originally planned to use the government backed Help to Buy: Equity Loan scheme but found we could afford the home without it and the team were extremely supportive with this change.”

“Before we moved in we received a home demonstration video tour and used the Touchpoint service which meant we could discuss our options and track the build progress of our home remotely which was extremely helpful.

About the moving day itself, Jenna said: “The day of our move was very exciting. The sales team made an extra effort to make sure it went smoothly as we had deliveries arriving on the day and Reece had a special surprise for me!”

Reece added: “Moving house and proposing all in one day was a mix of excitement and nervousness but Laura, Suzanne and Debbie were great. We cannot thank them enough for their kindness and they all went out of their way to congratulate us. We’d like to say a huge thank you to the Church View team. We love our new home and can’t wait to see what our future holds as a married couple in this new community.”
