Three-Storey Living is Ideal Solution For Growing Family

Posted 10 July 2018 by Helen Christie

A three-storey house from Taylor Wimpey in Newton Leys proved to be the ideal home for a growing family…

After welcoming their daughter Tilly, now 17 months old, into the world and with two four-legged friends already in the family, Kara and Chris Richards realised they needed a new home that offered more space and flexibility for them as a growing family.

Having lived in Furzton for three years previously, Kara and Chris were looking to move to similar settings. They wanted amenities close by but to be surrounded by open spaces to walk the dogs and enjoy the great outdoors as a family.

The Willow Lake development from Taylor Wimpey in Newton Leys instantly felt right for Kara, who works as a community nurse, and Chris, who is the global marketing manager for Barclays Bank in London. The three-storey, four-bedroom Charlbury house type gave them everything they wanted for their new family home.

Kara explains: “We had looked at other developments but Willow Lake just felt right. It’s very family orientated and with a real community feel. We feel very lucky to overlook fields and enjoy the quiet of this location but then only be 10 minutes from central Milton Keynes. The fact that Chris can get the train from Leighton Buzzard to work in London is really handy too.

“We chose the three-storey Charlbury because it offered us a lot more space for our money and the flexible layout was perfect for us. The ground floor kitchen/diner and family living space is a great sized area and ideal because we can keep the dogs on one level of the house. We chose to use the fourth bedroom, on the first floor, as a second lounge offering a more relaxing, adult space, and the third bedroom as an office. We love how many options we have!”

The new homes at Willow Lake are part of the brand new village community of Newton Leys, and already feature a wide range of local amenities close at hand, including a primary school, nursery, supermarket, cafe, fish & chip shop, dry cleaners, recreational park and leisure facilities. Later this year a public house and sports pavilion, with community provisions, will also join the current facilities at the development.

Kara adds: “The sales team were so helpful, they talked us through every step of the process and took the time to explain how the Help to Buy and Easy Mover schemes worked to help ensure a stress and hassle-free move. Each team member at Willow Lake is a true testament to Taylor Wimpey.”

For commuters, the A5 and the M1 are just a few minutes’ drive from home, while regular direct services operate from Bletchley railway station, less than three miles away, to London Euston in as little as 40 minutes. Those travelling further afield will appreciate that Luton Airport is only 20 miles from the development.

Willow Lake currently has a selection of homes available for purchase, including one- and two-bedroom apartments and two- to five-bedroom homes.
