St Agnes has the wow factor for couple looking for London base
Native Londoner Graham, and his partner Mike, originally from Birmingham, always knew that they would end up moving back to the capital.
The couple previously lived in Ealing, but are currently living in Norwich for work. However, they have missed the hustle and bustle of London life, and decided they wanted to return.
“After a stint house hunting in Brighton last December, we set our sights on the big smoke,” Graham says. "Our search began with new build developments in Greenwich, however we felt something was missing. We longed for a home with personality and charm, but knew that the old-fashioned layouts of period properties wouldn’t suit our sociable way of life.”
After some research, Graham discovered the classically designed townhouses at L&Q’s St Agnes Place development in Kennington. The couple were instantly drawn to its Georgian style architecture and central location, so Graham booked in an initial visit, with Mike joining him for a second visit.
Mike comments: “It definitely has the wow factor. We love how L&Q have blended character with convenience - there are nice period-style touches, such as the crescent window above the front door, but the overall design is conducive to modern life. For example, the townhouses have a lovely open-plan kitchen/dining room with bi-fold doors, which open out onto the garden beyond; a great space for socialising and entertaining``.”
Graham adds: “The development seemed to offer more than other new builds we had seen. We realised we could have a home with lots of private outside space- two balconies and a garden- a parking space, good eco credentials and plenty of room for guests. All just moments away from central London!”
The couple have now purchased a four-bedroom townhouse at St Agnes Place.
Graham and Mike are really looking forward to moving in: “Having previously not known much about the Kennington area, we’ve already discovered some great places to eat, enjoyed the green spaces surrounding the development, and are bowled over by how well-connected it is. We’re looking forward to getting to know Kennington even more when we move in, and with such excellent transport links, we can make our West End theatre trips even more regular.”
Graham concludes: “But most of all, we cannot wait to enjoy living in this beautiful new home.”
