A Return To Townhouse Living For Redrow Homebuyer
A house-hunter was so taken by a site visit and show home viewing that he has swapped a period cottage for a brand new Redrow home at a development in Swindon.
49-year-old Christian has split up with his partner and wanted to find somewhere new to live which was close to his children’s school, while also within easy reach of the centre of Swindon. The Badbury Park development has its own primary school and is just five minutes from an established secondary school.
He commented: “I’ve spent a lot of time living in the heart of the action, and ideally, I wanted to remain living within walking distance of the town centre. However, I was so impressed by the quality and beauty of the Redrow properties, I immediately knew I had found the right home at Badbury Park.
“From the moment I set foot in the show homes, I was blown away by the build quality and layout of the homes. Growing up, I lived in a townhouse, and so I was delighted to discover there were also three-storey properties available at Badbury Park.
Growing up living in a townhouse, Christian is originally from Montreal and moved to Europe in 1997. Before moving to his new home, ‘The Kensington’, he had previous lived in a Grade II listed cottage but the low-maintenance advantage of new build property was a big appeal to him.
Having taken a tour of Redrow’s homes at Badbury Park, he placed his deposit for the home he wanted on the very same day.
'The Kensington' house type
“The aesthetic of the home aligned with my own tastes, and I loved the idea of having a balcony to enjoy in the warmer months,” he continued. “The aspect that really sealed the deal was the bedrooms. As any parent will know, who gets the bigger bedroom can be the cause of arguments between children, so I was particularly impressed to find that two of the bedrooms were of equal size.”
Christian used the Help to Buy scheme to purchase his home with a reduced deposit requirement and a government loan which reduced his mortgage requirement. By choosing ‘The Kensington’, part of Redrow’s Heritage Collection of traditionally inspired exterior design, he and his children now have a four-bedroom property that’s as flexible as it is practical. Two of the bedrooms boast an en suite, and there’s the luxury of a balcony off the lounge. This house type has an open-plan kitchen/dining area and a separate lounge.
“The Redrow team were incredibly helpful from start to finish. Whether it was to offer guidance on the fixtures and fittings, or answer questions throughout the process, [they] were always available at the end of the phone to help, even after completion.”
There is another opportunity for other buyers to get the benefits of three-storey living at Badbury Park with ‘The Grantham’, which offers three double rooms on the first floor and a principal suite on the top floor.
Prices at Badbury Park start at £335,995 for a range of three- and four-bedroom homes. Site visits and show home viewings are available and are hosted in line with social distancing and health and safety regulations. There are no other visitors at the appointment time, protective screens and hand sanitiser throughout the sales centre. A thorough cleanse is performed after each appointment and opening hours have been extended to 7.00pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays to account for demand.
