Family Fun At Wembley Park Development

Posted 7 October 2022 by Helen Christie

WhatHouse? editor Helen, took her five-year-old son to explore Quintain Living’s Canada Gardens in Wembley Park…

While Wembley Park often conjures up images of the iconic stadium, it's an area filled with so much more, with plenty for all the family…

Designed with families in mind, Canada Gardens from WhatHouse? Award-winning developer Quintain Living is an urban country oasis with over an acre of greenspace and hireable allotment beds where children can connect with nature and grow anything from tomatoes to sunflowers.

Canada Gardens is about a 10 minute walk from Wembley Park underground station, and there is plenty to see on the way - with a wall filled with the history of the area, and plenty of restaurants, coffee shops and cafes lining the pedestrianised route. Helen and her son, Dougie, were first shown around the grounds of Canada Gardens, and Dougie immediately gravitated towards the pirate ship playground. He loved climbing to the top of the ship, and it took a little convincing to get him down to come and see the rest of the development, and he asked if he could come back and play later.

Next was a visit to Emily’s playhouse, an indoor space, beautifully designed and filled with toys, located next to the pirate ship. Designed by conceptual interior designers, Fossey Arora, with its magical lighting and treasure trove of toys and activities: “For younger residents, we created a stunning indoor playroom. It’s a beautiful space, designed with children at the core. Even the lighting is distinctive, providing a fairy tale-esque feeling and creating the perfect atmosphere for little imaginations to flourish. Children can feel like they have entered another world, where their imaginations can take flight.”

Dougie says: “The lights are so cool and this would be a really good place for a party. My little sister would love playing in the toy kitchen.”

On the ground floor of Canada Gardens is Out of Office, a coffee shop with a great selection of cakes which Dougie was very happy about. They were then shown around an apartment, and Dougie was a big fan of going up and down in the lift, and went to visit the allotments, rooftop terrace and the communal areas. The rooftop terrace is completely secure, and Dougie loved running around looking over at the view, trying to spot trains and landmarks.

After the tour, Helen and Dougie went to explore the rest of the area and were both very impressed with how family-friendly the area is. Just next to Canada Gardens is a new wooden playground and a splash park, which is perfect for hot days. There is also a larger play area near London Designer Outlet (Dougie absolutely loved the slide and very high fireman’s pole). There are a wide selection of restaurants in Wembley Park that offer great children’s menus, and a couple of ice cream shops if you’re in need of a delicious treat.

There is a great community feel in the area, and support is always on hand from fellow parents in Wembley Park. Every week at community centre The Yellow, parents meet at Daniel’s Den Parent and Toddler Group to share skills and form friendships while their little ones play, sing and craft, while there’s also a monthly Dad’s Zone session. For Quintain Living residents, there’s also an active parent and baby group available on the residents’ app.

Quintain Living residents with pre-school children also have the new, flagship Canopy Children’s Nursery on their doorstep. For school-age children, outstanding-rated primary, secondary and sixth form options are all available under a mile from Wembley Park.

Canada Gardens offers an urban setting with contemporary studios, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments to rent in Wembley Park.
