Quality is key at Douglas Gardens

Fiona Gatt and Geoff Dudman were on the lookout for a property that ticked all the boxes for them, their children Nicole and Ethan, and little cockapoo Ollie…

The family were searching for a home that delivered on quality, cost and location.

They found the perfect fit at Mactaggart & Mickel Homes’ Douglas Gardens development in Milngavie. Fiona and Geoff had lived in the area for a number of years in an older property and had been looking to move for some time but hadn’t found anything suitable. They had been considering a costly extension on their previous home when they found Douglas Gardens that was perfectly positioned across from Douglas Academy – their daughter Nicole’s school.

Fiona says: “When we first saw it we thought the development was very well designed in terms of the distance between the houses, their positioning and the size of the gardens which we thought we’d have to compromise on in a new build home. It seemed geared up for a friendly community feel. We were immediately taken with the design and flow of the five-bedroom Shuna home. It offered the best fit for what we had been looking for and it was in the perfect location for us. Quality and unique features were important to us, especially coming from an older home that we loved but just didn’t suit our purposes anymore. It was clear that the stamp of quality was all over the development.”

Fiona and Geoff purchased the Shuna villa and were very pleased to have Mactaggart & Mickel Homes’ Linda Carroll on hand to help make the process as smooth as possible. “The sales care we received in the process of buying our home and after we moved in has been fantastic. Linda made the whole process easy and clear and we really trusted her with our purchase – she is a great representation of the quality of service we received during the entire process of our move.

“The kitchen is definitely the hub of our home – it’s such a lovely, bright space. It’s where we all spend the most time and the room that we added the most bespoke elements to, like corian worktops and additional tiling.

“Our home offered us excellent value for money in the Milngavie area. The quality of every detail of our home and our interactions with all the team at Douglas Gardens reaffirmed our decision to buy with Mactaggart & Mickel Homes. This has definitely made us both real advocates for the company. I’ve already recommended them to my colleague who has since bought her new home at the company’s development in Symington.”
