Community Spirit At Longniddry Development

Posted 16 August 2022 by Helen Christie

Places for People held a Meet the Neighbours BBQ at Longniddry Village in East Lothian…

Longniddry Village is an East Lothian development from ZeroC, part of Places for People.

Longniddry Village is a collection of locally-inspired modern country homes, doorstep amenities and attractive green spaces. Places for People held its first-ever Meet the Neighbours BBQ on Longniddry’s village green, the perfect setting for a fun-filled day that brought customers and colleagues together to celebrate the blossoming community.

With this development offering a vibrant mix of homes – from affordable rent apartments and cottages for the over-60s, to a broad selection of homes available to buy outright – the event was a unique opportunity for all our customers to get together in one place and share a real sense of community.

Local caterers Jo’s Kitchen supplied the BBQ, which saw over fifty attendees – including neighbours of all ages – picnic happily on the green as they enjoyed getting to know one another and our teams a little better. Nothing went to waste either, as the tasty leftovers were donated to Haddington’s Homeless Centre.

Residents loved having the chance to meet each other properly at the event – the idea for which was originally born during lockdown. Places for People chatted to them about how they were finding living in Longniddry…

Iain and Ann say: “We love our new home here. Our house is amazing and suits us down to a T! The village has so many great facilities nearby and great transport links. There is so much lovely nature and I have bees and butterflies in my garden – something I didn’t expect from a new build development."

The Davidson family say: “We love living here, it’s great. We feel like we’ve won the lottery!”

And the Phillbin family say: “We were the first to move here. It's such a great community, everyone looks out for each other, and we feel safe. It's nice and quiet and great for our grandchildren visiting as there are no busy roads nearby and we don’t need to worry about them."

Sales and marketing director Allison Sutherland concludes: “It was the perfect day for a barbecue, and it’s been so nice to see our staff and customers meet properly for the first time at Longniddry Village. Our neighbourhoods are places that feel connected and accessible, with a real sense of community and togetherness – and we’ve really seen that in action here today. A big thank you to everyone involved for making it such a success!”

Longniddry’s award-winning two-, three- and four-bedroom homes combine desirable period features with the very latest modern conveniences to create a unique classic feel.

Residents have access to plenty of local amenities and green space along with East Lothian’s magnificent coastline and countryside, and Edinburgh is just 20 minutes away.
