Part Exchange Opens New Doors for Hampshire Couple

When Matthew, 33, popped the question to Claire, 32, in Yellowstone National Park on their dream fly drive holiday to the States, little did they imagine they would return to discover that their idyllic forever home at Beaumont Park could be a reality. 

The couple initially stumbled across the Linden Homes’ development, located on the edge of the New Forest by chance and set their hearts on a house there. Thanks to Linden Homes’ Part Exchange scheme Matt and Claire were able to leap-frog over the two-bedroom property they thought they could afford straight into a three-bedroom home with both space inside and out. 

Matt, who works for the government, says: “We were looking to up-size from a one- to a two-bedroom “forever” home because that was what we thought we could afford. I got an alert while we were on holiday that the second lot of homes were about to be launched at Beaumont Park. Having viewed a two-bedroom property in phase one we knew this was the development for us. As soon as we got home, we spoke to The New Homes Group, Linden Homes’ recommended mortgage advisors, and we realised that with the Part Exchange scheme we could buy one of the new three-bedroom semi-detached properties. We were delighted although still a bit jet-lagged.” 

Linden Homes became Matt and Claire’s guaranteed cash buyer on their one-bedroom property, so after only a short time spent hunting for their perfect home they had the freedom to move straight into it as soon as it was ready.  

Claire, who is a keen horse rider, adds: “We looked at a couple of second-hand properties, but we wanted the convenience of new build. When we discovered Beaumont Park we were sold. We loved the secluded site layout and the location was perfect not just for where we both work, I commute to Downton and my fiancé to Poole. I have a horse, so the New Forest being on the doorstep was a big plus. There’s also a great pub a short walk away.” 

Part Exchange was only one of the advantages of a home at Beaumont Park. Matt and Claire bought off-plan so were able to take advantage of hand picking a plot to suit them and personalising their new home which was dependent on build stage. A selection of interior options such as flooring and kitchens, meant they could put their own stamp on their brand new home right at the beginning.    

The couple have enjoyed settling into their new home: “We’re extremely lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the country. We’ve had a great experience with Linden Homes, and we can now look forward to starting married life in what is truly our dream home.”
