Forever Home Move Made Simple

Posted 27 April 2022 by Helen Christie

Corinne and Steve had their heart set on a new home in Barton but worried they wouldn’t be able to sell their current home in time…

When they’d set their heart on a new home in the Lancashire village of Barton, Corinne Copeland and Steve Atherton worried they wouldn’t be able to sell their own house in time to secure it.

But ‘Move Simple’ from Anwyl Homes made the move straight-forward, it took the stress out of the whole process so all they needed to focus on was settling in to their beautiful new Lymm style home at Lawrence Gardens, near Preston.

“It made life so much easier,” says Corinne. “The communication throughout was great, the team we dealt with was so supportive – and it was like we weren’t doing it alone.”

With Anwyl’s Move Simple scheme, buyers can leave the housebuilder to sell their current property, including arranging the valuation and working with a respected estate agent so they can sell up quickly. Once their property is sold, customers can reserve their dream Anwyl home.

Corinne says: “Although we didn’t think we’d have problems selling our house, Anwyl offered additional support and resources. They kept everything moving and, what surprised me, was how much they got involved with the people buying our house so that went smoothly for them and kept our move on track.

“Moving can be a stressful time, it’s nerve-racking, but Anwyl really did make it simple.” Corinne and husband Steve are now settled in their new home.

The couple have been together since 2007 and previously lived in Corinne’s three-bedroom dormer bungalow in Oldham. They married last year and a home of their own seemed like the next step.

“We married on a Tuesday and we were house hunting on the Friday before we went on our honeymoon on the Saturday,” Corinne recalls. “Now I work from home, we no longer needed to be in Oldham, but wanted somewhere quieter and more rural, with a village feel, as we start to think about retirement. We also wanted to be near our son and his partner who have since had a beautiful baby girl”.

They looked at three developments by different housebuilders but as soon as they saw Anwyl’s Lawrence Gardens they knew it was where they wanted to live.

“The staff were really helpful, friendly and professional – and first impressions count – and we loved the look and finish of the show home,” Corinne says.

Corinne and Steve chose a four-bedroom Lymm style property as their new home.

“We chose our Lymm because we liked the position of the property, the garden is a good size, and we didn’t need anything too large. I love the layout of the kitchen and dining area with the separate utility. I love having a bedroom with an en-suite, which is a new one for me, and the bedroom is lovely and spacious, so I’ve finally got a dressing table,” Corinne explains.

“When I’m in my office in the fourth bedroom upstairs, I can see fields filled with sheep. It’s lovely.”

At the bottom of the garden there’s a railway line, which is a great feature for railway enthusiast Steve. They love to walk and are looking forward to getting onto the Beacon Fell or the fields they can see from the window, or along the canal.

“We already feel really settled and this is our forever home,” Corinne adds. “We love the area, it’s easy to travel around from here, and there are lots of lovely places to eat and drink. When we go to Garstang, it’s such a lovely village it feels like we’re on holiday.”

The Garstang Road development has easy access to the cities of Preston and Lancaster, while being close to the neighbouring areas of Broughton, Bilsborrow, and Garstang, with an excellent choice of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants.

Anwyl currently has a selection of four-bedroom homes from £338,995.
