Downtime By The Riverside In Staines-Upon-Thames

Posted 6 April 2021 by Keith Osborne

Farah Choudrey has found her perfect home with award-winning London Square at its popular Surrey development...

For the past year, Farah Choudrey, a therapy technician, has been working with patients on Covid wards at Charing Cross Hospital. At the end of intense shifts, she looks forward to downtime and relaxing in her new home at London Square Staines Upon Thames, a landmark £120million development in the heart of the riverside town in Surrey.

Farah moved into her flat last summer after completing a sales process which took place during the busiest time of her professional life. The 30-year-old had moved from Watford to be with her family in Stanwell temporarily. She and her mother drove past the London Square Staines Upon Thames development in the heart of the riverside town and decided to take a look.

Farah said: “I know the area really well. I used to go to school in Ashford and I was keen to move back. The town has changed a lot and is a great place to live. When I toured the development, I was struck by the amazing design and fell in love with the two-bedroom apartment I have now purchased.

“I feel as though I am living in a five-star hotel! Everything in the development has been designed with careful consideration and with the residents in mind, in lovely grounds, with gardens, and a residents’ gym. It’s an excellent location, close to the shops and restaurants. There are market stalls selling fresh produce and street food within walking distance and Staines Food Court is across the road from the development. There are good places for coffee and sitting near the river.”

She added: “There was great communication from the London Square sales team throughout the process. They understood my personal circumstances and how busy I was at work. After a stressful few months, I am so happy living here.”

Farah cycles to work in West London, using cycle routes all the way, to help keep fit for her favourite hobby – competitive boxing.

Farah Choudrey“I work out on the balcony and use the gym. I have been boxing for about eight years now and compete in the flyweight category in contests all over the UK and Europe. I have also started a boxing work-out with residents here in the development when restrictions allow. I have been running along the river, which is so lovely and around the lakes at Virginia Water, where the scenery is beautiful. I bought an assault bike and have it looking out over the balcony of my flat, which has been a lifesaver during the winter lockdown.”

A new Co-op recently opened at street level and a great range of shops, restaurants, and cafés are close by. The station is a four-minute walk away, with fast trains to London Waterloo taking 35 minutes. It’s a five-minute walk to the Thames, offering opportunities for paddle boarding, rowing and riverside trails for walking, cycling and running. Windsor Great Park and the open countryside at Runnymede are close by for enjoying the great outdoors.

The final apartments for sale at London Square Staines Upon Thames start from £369,950 for a one-bedroom apartment, with two-bedroom apartments from £452,000, all with generous private balconies. There are landscaped communal gardens and roof terraces with far-reaching views, and an on-site gym.

For buyers looking for a Shared Ownership home, Clarion Housing Group is offering studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments in Ascot House at London Square Staines Upon Thames through the ‘part buy-part rent’ scheme, starting at £76,250 for a 25% share of a studio apartment priced at £305,000. The apartments are spacious, with impressive floor-to-ceiling windows, flexible living areas with room for home working, and exceptional specification, with Amtico flooring, underfloor heating throughout, luxurious bathrooms and high-end integrated appliances.
