Relocating To New Home Nearer Family In Herefordshire

Posted 9 July 2021 by Keith Osborne

Jo and Geoff Parr have downsized to a new single-storey home closer to family at Malvern Oaks, in the village of Cradley...

A couple who have been married for 63 years have relocated from Mickleton in Gloucestershire to the picturesque Herefordshire village of Cradley after finding a dream home at Living Space Housing’s flagship Malvern Oaks development of bungalows and family houses.

Jo and Geoff Parr were keen to relocate to the area to be closer to family who live in nearby Bromyard. They have moved into a spacious two-/three-bedroom ‘Stanford’ bungalow with a good-sized fore and rear garden. The single-storey home also has a substantial kitchen and utility, and a separate living room.

Mrs Parr said: “We were living in a large four-bedroom home in Mickleton, which is close to The Cotswolds, but took the decision that we would benefit from being closer to our family, who live in Bromyard. With bungalows in high demand, we missed out on buying a home very close to where our daughter lives, so she suggested we viewed Malvern Oaks, which is seven miles away. We loved the quality and the setting, so we reserved a ‘Stanford’ bungalow on the spot and haven’t looked back!

“Relocating over an hour’s drive from our old family home was a daunting prospect, but having generous room dimensions has really helped with the process of downsizing. The design of our Stanford bungalow is very practical and having an en suite shower room off the main bedroom is perfect for our needs. The living room and kitchen are so light and airy, and there is plenty of space to entertain family and friends, both inside and out.”

All but two of the 19 houses and bungalows at the popular development have already been matched with buyers. The last remaining two/three-bedroom ‘Stanford’ bungalow is priced at £360,000, while the last remaining three-bedroom ‘Welland’ house is priced at £395,000. Living Space is currently offering to cover the cost of the Stamp Duty, enabling buyers to put the meaningful funds towards their mortgage, or home furnishings.

Living Space is making a significant investment in the creation of an extensive area of public open space and a new adventure playground at Malvern Oaks. Commissioned sculpture art, toadstool and bandrake seating, swings, a seahorse seesaw, a jungle climber and a crawling tunnel to inspire creative play will be installed onto a large area of safety matting as part of the final phase of the scheme.

The collection of traditional brick and render homes feature a quality specification, including contemporary fitted kitchens, complete with a range of integrated appliances. All bathrooms and en suites feature Porcelanosa wall tiling and complementary Karndean flooring. Find out more at [email protected].
