Essex Family Enjoying What Their New Build Home Offers
After renovating their previous two properties, John and Emma Merry moved into their brand new home at Linden Homes’ Finches Park location in Frinton-on-Sea and are pleased with the benefits a newly built home offers.
John, 40, a technology architect, said: “Finches Park was close to where we lived previously, plus, a friend of ours had bought the same house type at the same development and after seeing photos she posted on Facebook, we fell in love with it.
“Our previous two properties were renovated and now, with the children, we wanted a home we could move straight into.”
As well as wanting to stay in the area, Emma and John enjoy the proximity to the Essex coast and the green open space at Finches Park. The couple, along with their three children, McKenzie, 13, Matilda, 11 and Fraizer, 6, opted for Linden Homes’ ‘Pembroke’ house type and love the space and layout the four-bedroom detached home offers.
Emma, 38, a community nursery nurse, said: “We wanted more space and value for money which we found with the ‘Pembroke’.”
John added: “There's nothing Emma doesn't love about our new house, when we pull up on our drive, she still can't believe it's our lovely forever family home. I’ve never been a fan of new builds previously but I love our home at Finches Park.”
Following the first lockdown and government restrictions, Linden Homes introduced an appointment-only service which allows house-hunters to enjoy viewings on a one-to-one basis. This ensures visitors have dedicated time with a sales consultant to discuss their homebuying needs.
John, who attends karate classes with his children, said: “We liked the appointment-only service as we didn’t feel rushed at any stage throughout our home buying journey.”
Since moving in at the end of April, the family have been enjoying settling into their new home and meeting their neighbours – Emma has even invited those interested in moving to Finches Park into their home for a tour.
“There are some lovely neighbours,” she said. “We're not in each other’s pockets but everyone has been welcoming.”
“I’ve even been showing potential neighbours – who aren’t completely sold yet – around our home so they can get a view of what it’s like living here. There’s also a Facebook page for the development which is building the local community.”
Finches Park, a short drive from Frinton-on-Sea’s charming seafront, has excellent travel links via the A133, A120 and A12, as well as regular train services from Kirby Cross station which is within walking distance.
The development offers a collection of three- to five-bedroom homes, with selected properties available with Help to Buy and other purchase assistance schemes. Find out more at www.lindenhomes.co.uk.
