Couple Move With The Benefits Of Part Exchange

Posted 26 February 2021 by Keith Osborne

Debbie and Richard traded their old home for a brand new one in a more traditional village location at Hayfield Place...

A Bedfordshire couple who had been house-hunting for years were finally able to upgrade to a luxury home at Hayfield Place in Silsoe, thanks to the housebuilder’s Part Exchange initiative.

Having raised their two grown-up children in Dunstable, Debbie and Richard were looking for a lifestyle change and a move to a traditional village. A visit to English Heritage’s magnificent Wrest Park Estate prompted the initial enquiry, as Hayfield Place is located very close by, just off Silsoe’s historic High Street. The family has upgraded to a four-bedroom detached ‘Hallow’ house and benefitted from the week-long moving in window that is a key aspect of Hayfield’s Part Exchange initiative.

Debbie said: “We had been looking to move out of Dunstable for years. Our two boys are grown up now and we wanted to swap the busyness of living in a town for the peace and tranquillity of village life, with a good local pub close by. My sister lives in Shefford and my brother lives in Barton-le-Clay, so having set our mind on a new home, we kept an eye out for what was on offer in all the villages around the area, but we didn’t like the design of any of the homes we saw. After years of looking, I noticed Hayfield Place when meeting up with my sister at Wrest Park. Coincidentally, my husband had been looking at the plans online too!

“We had a good look around the development and also visited Hayfield Green in Oxfordshire to take a look at the ‘Hallow’ show home. Everything about it was beautiful and we knew a Hayfield home was the right choice for us. We were thrilled to be offered Part Exchange as it made the process of moving so much easier. The carpets were laid before any of our furniture was moved in, and we were able to move everything else over a few days. We love the quality and design of all the living space and are very happy and settled here. It is heart-warming to see new neighbours moving in and we’re looking forward to the Covid restrictions being eased, so that the Star & Garter Pub just down the road can reopen.”

Hayfield PlaceThe 14-acre Hayfield Place scheme features 105 two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom bungalows and executive family homes from the WhatHouse? Award-winning housebuilder. The homes have been selling ahead of the build programme and the current release of large three- and four-bedroom homes ranges in price from £475,000 to £670,000.

Hayfield Place has been designed to reflect architectural styles from the sought-after historic village, weaving in local materials and detailing. The new homes are being constructed in red and buff brick and render with a luxurious specification that is unmatched in the area. The specification features of the ‘Hallow’ home includes underfloor heating, designer Laufen bathrooms, Minoli ceramic tiles, Hammonds fitted wardrobes, Farrow & Ball paint, heritage bronze door furniture and bi-fold doors. The bespoke kitchens designed by Manor Interiors include a range of integrated Bosch appliances, such as multifunctional ovens, an induction hob, dishwasher and an instant hot tap.

Hayfield’s homes are significantly bigger than the average new home, creating spacious room dimensions. The variety of 14 home designs at Hayfield Place enables purchasers to choose from modern open-plan layouts or more traditional designs. New public footpaths, a balancing pond, a biodiversity corridor that will run across the site, and a new section of bridleway and cycle route are all being created to connect Hayfield Place into the local Bedfordshire footpath network.

The nearby towns of Milton Keynes, Luton and Bedford offer a wealth of shopping, restaurants, entertainment and sporting facilities. Luton Airport is 12 miles away, and Flitwick railway station is four miles away, making it an ideal location for those wishing to travel for pleasure or commute.

The development is located at High Street, Silsoe and is open seven days a week, from 10.00am to 5.00pm.
