First Home For Blended Family In Dorset

Helen ChristieA couple have moved into a brand new property at Canford Paddock near Bournemouth, and it will be their first home together with their children.
Mark Braden, 51, and Sarah Andrews, 48, have three kids between them, two of whom will be living with them, so they wanted a home that would be large enough for a household of four.
It was David Wilson Homes’ development on Magna Road in Canford where they found the property they were after, and fortunately for the pair, it was in an ideal area.
Mark says: “We wanted a home with four bedrooms, and it needed to be near Bournemouth where both Sarah and I work. Canford Paddock is only four miles from the city centre, and it had a property available that fit the bill.”
Mark and Sarah previously lived in separate houses nearby, and both were keen to stay in the vicinity.
Sarah says: “I come from Ringwood originally and have always lived in the area, and Mark relocated down here from the Midlands a while back. We didn’t want to move far. Canford Paddock had a home available, which had enough space for Mark and me as well as my son, Ben, and Mark’s daughter, Laura, which was perfect.”
The development from the WhatHouse? Award-winning housebuilder is close to the River Stour and has over 100 acres of green space on its doorstep, which was a plus point for Sarah in particular.
She adds: “The development feels like it’s in the countryside, but with it also being close to Bournemouth, we will be getting the best of both worlds.”
It is David Wilson’s four-bedroom Cornell property that the couple purchased. The couple purchased a four-bedroom Cornell house type, a detached home with a dual aspect lounge, with feature bay window on the ground floor, along with a large open plan kitchen with French doors to the garden. Upstairs there are three double bedrooms, one with an en-suite, a single bedroom and a family bathroom. The property also comes with a garage and two parking spaces.

Before their move-in date, Mark and Sarah were invited on site to see how their house build was progressing. Mark adds: “Being able to see our home during construction was great, and now we’re all moved in and can start making it our own.”
Tammy Bishop, David Wilson Homes sales director, Southampton Division, is delighted to hear that the David Wilson development has become the first home for the blended family. She says: “This new community in Poole is made up of a selection of spacious homes, and it’s great to hear that one of these means these two families can now live together as one. I wish them all lots of luck for their new chapter.”
Canford Paddock is an exclusive collection of three- and four-bedroom homes in a semi-rural location, opposite protected natural greenspace and close to the River Stour. Several local shops, restaurants and leisure facilities are nearby, and Bournemouth and Poole Harbour are both within easy reach.
