Couple Settle In New Home In Great Bowden

Posted 31 January 2024 by Helen Christie

A couple has settled at Cora’s The Old Sawmill development in Great Bowden…

A couple who recently moved to Cora’s The Old Sawmill development say staff have “gone above and beyond” in helping them settle into their new home.

Doreen and Michael moved into their new house in Great Bowden, Leicestershire, in June, having previously lived in the Caribbean.

Earlier this year, the couple came back to visit the UK for a week but thought while they were in the country, they would have a look at some houses.

Doreen says: “We used to live in this area so know this part of the world very well. While we were in the country we thought we would have a quick look around for houses, not really thinking we would find anything. We looked at nine different homes in other places and had almost given up – then we came here to The Old Sawmill and had a look at the show home they had just finished. We had a look around and within half an hour we were signing on the dotted line.”

Doreen said they absolutely love their new home and were delighted by the help they received when moving in.

Doreen continues: “This is a really beautiful house – we really can’t fault it. Aki and Brenden from Cora have been great and have been asking about snagging but, to be honest, there’s nothing for them to do. We haven’t had a single issue with the building. We haven’t had to have Cora come back and do anything. Dawn, who sold us our house, had been brilliant too – all three of them have been absolutely brilliant. Aki and Brenden have been so helpful. We have been having furniture delivered recently so have lots of boxes coming into the house and the moment they see them they ask if they can help. They have really gone above and beyond to make our move as good as it could be. They are great, lovely lads.  They are so motivated and enthusiastic to help, Cora is lucky to have them.”

Doreen said she can’t wait for more people to join the community.

She says: “At the moment it’s quiet as we are among the first to move in. All the houses here are lovely, we’ve been really impressed with the standard of the work – it’s top quality. I’m looking forward to meeting our neighbours and making some new friends.”

The Old Sawmill offers a collection of just 33 two-, three- and four-bedroom homes in Great Bowden, the oldest village in Leiestershire.
