Jill’s Garden Makeover Creates A Blooming Wonderful New Home

Keith OsborneAvid gardener Jill Furneaux has been busy transforming the garden of her new Cavanna home into a floral and luscious haven.
Since moving into her two-bedroom ‘Rippon’ at Bellevue in Bude, Jill has dug borders for her favourite flowers, fruits and vegetables whilst retaining strips of turf laid by Cavanna Homes for walkways around the garden.
Blooms include various colours of roses, Verbena, Heuchera and one of Jill’s favourite’s Gaura, a tall white, star shaped flower that she enjoys watching flutter in the breeze. She also planted raspberries, strawberries, tomatoes and rhubarb and added two places to sit; one in the sun and one in the shade.
After living with her daughter, son-in-law and three grandchildren during the lockdown, Jill made the decision to move to Bude to be within walking distance of her family.
Jill said: “When your children move away from home, you’ve got to put your love somewhere, so I put mine into my garden. I’m very lucky and enjoy sharing mine regularly with my family when they come to visit – which is often now that we live so close together.”
‘Rippon’ house type
Jill reserved her home off-plan meaning she was able to select all the fixtures and fittings, including kitchen units and bathroom tiles, opting for an extra bathroom cabinet underneath the sink. “All the Cavanna Homes staff were so helpful throughout the buying process. I absolutely know I made the right decision to move here.”
She added: “My son-in-law is a plumber and is very particular. When he did a walkthrough of the house, he was really impressed with the quality of the fittings, particularly the small touches like the caps covering the light switch screws.
“I was impressed with the quality of the topsoil, I’m sure it’s why the garden has grown so well!”
Bellevue currently has a number of two-, three- and four-bedroom house types for sale and selected plots will be ready to move into by Christmas. Prices start at £285,000 and for a very limited time – 6.00pm on Monday 31 October – first-time buyers might be able to use Help to Buy to purchase their new home, which requires a deposit of only 5%.
