A family of five who’ve settled into their new home at Bellway’s Hampton Trove development in Hampton Magna love it so much that they’re hoping their relatives might join them there.
Janet Ip and Max Chow were the first buyers to move into a new home at the Warwickshire development in October this year.
They moved with their three children, Myran, Galie, and Justin and two poodles, out of a three-bedroom semi-detached house they’d been renting in Warwick, into a four-bedroom detached Bowyer house type at the development.
Max, who works in logistics, and Janet, a full-time mum, got the keys to their new home in October 2021 and were quick to recommend the development to family and friends. The family, who previously lived in Hong Kong, are now looking to buy a neighbouring property for when family members look to move to the UK in the future.
Janet says: “Our family and friends who live in the UK have said the house is really nice when they’ve visited. We have also shown pictures of our home to relatives in Hong Kong and they also love it.
“We are now looking to buy the show home right next to ours, as a future investment. However, this isn’t due be released for sale for some time, so we are exploring our options.”
The family love the extra space they now have in their new home at Hampton Trove.
Janet continues: “We wanted a well-priced property that was detached and allowed everyone to have their own rooms. In our rented property our two boys had to share a room so a four-bedroom home was a must. Max was adamant that it must be detached so we didn’t have to worry about any neighbouring houses. The children can make as much noise as they want now. The children all love their rooms and are very excited to decorate them, which is another great thing about owning your own property. We don’t have to worry about getting marks on the walls or anything like that. We can do what we want to the house because we own it.
“I liked the kitchen in the Bowyer. It is an open-plan kitchen, dining and family area and it is lovely and light throughout the day. I love the windows and the patio doors that open out into the garden and allow all the sunlight to come in, making the kitchen lovely and warm.”
Their new home’s peaceful setting in Hampton Magna is also a real positive for the family.
Janet adds: “We started looking to buy our own property in July, with location and schools being our main criteria. At the time, we were looking for second-hand properties, but we didn’t find any we liked. When I dropped my children off to school, I used to drive around looking for properties nearby. It was when I dropped my daughter off at Budbrooke Primary School that I noticed Bellway was building a new development called Hampton Trove.
“It was a perfect location as it was nice and quiet. We had previously looked at a few new-build developments in Warwick by other developers but didn’t like them as the houses seemed tightly packed together. Hampton Trove is very spread out and I like how quiet it is. The surrounding areas are really nice for walking the dogs – there is a lot of greenery.”
As Janet and Max hadn’t bought a home in the UK before, they found it difficult to look at new-build properties off plan, as they couldn’t imagine what their home would look like. However, they were able to look around an almost fully finished house at Hampton Trove and could envisage themselves living there, so much so that they reserved that exact property.
Janet says: “We knew nothing about properties in the UK, so it was really good to be able to look around Bellway’s showhome and then we saw the Bowyer and loved it. It wasn’t completely finished at the time, as the floors still needed to go in but most of it had been built, which allowed us to imagine the finished product. Properties in Hong Kong are mostly apartments, and similar in appearance, whereas in the UK each property is different. Therefore, it was so important to us to see the property before we bought it, rather than from the plans, as we wanted to be able to picture us living there.”
The family have experienced great customer service from the site and sales team at the development.
Janet finishes: “Clair in the sales office is really good. She gave us a lot of advice and has even introduced us to other people who will be moving onto the development. Adam and James, the site managers at the development, have also been really helpful with all the questions we’ve had. Everyone has been so welcoming and have really helped us settle into our new home.”
Bellway is building a collection of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes at Hampton Trove, off Daly Avenue, with prices currently starting from £292,500 for a two-bedroom property.
