Home Exchange The Key To A Dream Move

Posted 10 June 2021 by Keith Osborne

The Speers family used Bovis Homes' Home Exchange scheme to take away the hassles of the property chain...

Keeping a close eye on Bovis Homes’ Pear Tree Walk location in Drakes Broughton, Quintin and Sarah Speers took the plunge and moved into their brand new home at the end of last year with the help of the housebuilder’s Home Exchange scheme.

The couple and their two daughters Amelia, 10 and Olivia, 5, lived nearby in the Worcestershire village for several years before moving into the four-bedroom ‘Cambridge’ house type at Pear Tree Walk.

Quintin, who works in temporary staffing for the NHS, said: “We had our eyes on the development from the start. We liked the location and the convenience it offered our family.

“We’re fortunate enough to be surrounded by beautiful countryside while at the same time having easy access to amenities in local towns and cities, as well as good road links for work. The girls are also really pleased to be able to stay local so that they can still see all their friends and walk to school.”

Working predominantly from home since the beginning of lockdown last year, Quintin and Sarah, who works as an occupational psychologist and regional director of a talent management business, were after more space in their house move. They opted to use Bovis Homes’ Home Exchange scheme to ensure the sale of their former property.

“The whole process was smooth and hassle-free,” said Quintin. “The sales team at Pear Tree Walk have been supportive and provided us with all the information we needed. We would definitely recommend the Home Exchange scheme as we were given a fair market price for our old property and had the hassle of selling a home taken away from us.”

Under the scheme, homebuyers are offered a price on their current property based on three independent valuations and can stay in their existing home until their new home is ready. They also won’t need to pay for estate agents’ fees.

“We needed separate office space and our new home allowed for that,” Quintin added. “The large kitchen provides a great base to work when we’re all at home, offering plenty of space to spread out. The office is also a great size for home working.”

Since their move in November, the family – which also includes their dog Milo, the cat and two fish, Belle and Tinkerbell – have been enjoying settling into their new home and meeting their neighbours.

“Everyone we’ve met so far has been lovely and we’ve received a warm welcome from existing residents. Although it’s been different due to the lockdown, we’ve felt supported and are looking forward to socialising more,” said Quintin.

Pear Tree Walk offers two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom homes. Find out more at www.bovishomes.co.uk.
