Buyers’ Delight At Barratt Cheshire Development

Keith OsborneNow over 65% sold, the J One Seven development from Barratt Homes in Sandbach has proven to be the right move for many residents.
The choice of three- and four-bedroom homes at the scheme have appealed to families, first-time buyers and young professionals alike. The heart of the market town is just a short walk away, there’s great access to commuter routes, and proximity to the countryside and nature. Crucial to many with children, it is also within the catchment area for schools rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted.
Prices there currently range from £238,495 to £264,995 and buyers can ask about the Help to Buy initiative. Visits to the marketing suite and three show homes are by appointment only from Thursday to Monday.
Some recent new residents at J One Seven tell their stories…
Akram and Jamie
This Cheshire couple have been using Instagram to showcase stylish décor and the modern design of their three-storey townhouse in Sandbach. They created the account to document their move from their previous flats into a ‘Fawley’ style home.
“Prior to moving, we were both living separately,” said Akram, an advertising manager originally from Manchester. “I sold my flat and moved in with Jamie when we finally decided to live together, but we were both looking ahead for a house with more space and somewhere we can grow into long term.”
The couple’s flair for design can be seen on their Instagram account, updated regularly with pictures of their individual style and additions to their Barratt home. It features colourful feature walls and contemporary artwork spread across three storeys and four bedrooms.
Jamie said: “Sandbach has a really nice town feel to the place, and we had to adjust to not having everything on our doorstep. Other residents are really friendly, and there’s a great community feel. The local restaurants and bars are only a 15-minute walk, so we can spend more time enjoying our night instead of worrying about a taxi home.”
The Foster family
Claire Foster has praised the Barratt Homes development’s sales team for providing her and her family with a stress free move to their new home. Along with her three children Reece (22), Kacey (17) and Toby (16), Claire moved to J One Seven after using the government’s Help to Buy scheme to purchase the four-bedroom ‘Fawley’ style townhouse.
“The whole experience of buying to moving in was handled with such expertise,” said the happy homeowner. “The fantastic team of professionals at J One Seven recommended solicitors and financial advisers in an incredibly timely manner, and their communication was faultless. Their continuous updates meant that the stress of buying and ultimately moving was next to none.”
She continued: “The development is one mile away from Sandbach and short drive away from the M6, which makes it great for commuting.” With Crewe train station nearby, residents can benefit from fast and frequent services to Manchester, Liverpool, Warrington, Chester and direct services to London.
Michaela Lancaster, sales director at Barratt Homes Manchester, said: “We are delighted that Claire has found the dream home for herself and her family at J One Seven.”
The McCann family
Two key workers – police officer Claire McCann and husband Graham, a member of the fire service – have over 5,000 followers on their Instagram account, which was created to document the building process and their move.
Born and raised in Stoke-on-Trent, Claire said: “We were renting before and this is the first home that either of us have owned. Graham and I were really keen to get on the property ladder and find a home that was big enough for our growing family.”
The couple share their home with their son Ethan (4), French Bulldogs, Tommy and Ghost, and Graham’s son Connor (8), who stays with them part time.
“We visited the show home and instantly fell in love with it. It was the perfect size for us, and we loved that it was a blank canvas for us to put our own stamp on,” added Claire. They moved into a four-bedroom ‘Harborough’ style home their own and have added a large play area in the garden for the children as well as a custom-built outdoor bar for the adults.
She said: “We utilised a savings ISA and Help to Buy really made a difference to what we could afford. Graham and I stuck to a budget whilst saving, but we never had to miss out on nice things for our family.”
