First-Time Buyers Leave London For New Home In Milton Keynes

Posted 12 January 2022 by Helen Christie

A couple have recently left the hustle and bustle of London and moved back to Milton Keynes to step onto the property ladder and purchase their first home…

Farid, 32, and Jennifer Hashemi, 29, who grew up in Milton Keynes and Northampton respectively, have moved into Barratt Homes’ development Woburn Downs on Watling Street.

Farid, a software architect and Jennifer, a dance teacher, were previously renting in Kingston, and have now settled into a three-bedroom detached home with their dog.

Farid says: “The home is perfect for us because we finally have our own private garden, and have crucial storage space which we’ve lacked having lived in two-bedroom flats for many years! It’s also perfect because now we have space to make starting a family easier.

“We found Barratt Homes to be the most attentive to our needs, plus we were impressed with the build quality when we viewed the show homes. We actually ended up spending over four hours in the sales centre on our first visit and felt really looked after.

“We were given honest advice and answers from the very start which made us feel completely at ease. We would definitely recommend Barratt Homes.”

The couple took advantage of the Help to Buy scheme, which made it possible for them to buy the home they wanted with a smaller deposit.

Farid continues: “Our street is so lovely. It’s a friendly community and it seems like our neighbours are all working hard to make the development a lovely place to live. Barratt Homes have organised some events since we moved in which make for a great opportunity for us to meet our neighbours.

“The local area is great. We have Woburn Forest and Caldecotte Lake both less than a five minute drive away, which are amazing for dog walks, with lots of good pubs, restaurants nearby too. Fenny Stratford and Woburn Sands are also easily accessible, which have great high streets.”

Alison Raine, sales director at Barratt Homes Northampton, says: “We’re delighted to welcome Farid and Jennifer to the wonderful community we have at Woburn Downs!

“As we pride ourselves on delivering excellent customer service, it’s always great to hear how our customers felt they were well looked-after throughout their journey. We’re looking forward to seeing how the community continues to grow at this development.”

With a range of three-, four- and five-bedroom homes currently available, Woburn Downs has already gathered a lot of attention from potential homebuyers.
