Seal Of Approval For Development As Three Employees Buy Homes
Housebuilders are always proud when buyers recommend their new homes to friends and family but when those buyers are also members of staff, the endorsement is particularly edifying.
For one WhatHouse? Award-winning housebuilder, Backhouse Housing, the endorsement has come not just from one but from three of its colleagues who have all bought at the same development.
The housebuilder’s operations director, Wayne Cole, the development’s site manager, Jasmine Sommers, and quantity surveyor, Jack Rogers, have all moved into homes at Backhouse Midsomer Norton development.
Wayne and his wife have moved into a five-bedroom home on the development and said this was a really unusual situation for an employer. “I think it’s testimony to the build quality, location and generosity of space both inside and outside the houses.”
Wayne says that the design of his new property fitted every aspect that he and his wife were looking for in a new home: “I have done a self-build before but didn’t want the pain of doing another! So, this is the next best thing and who better than Backhouse to build my new home in my hometown of Midsomer Norton? Buying the house meant I was buying into my team. Their hard work is demonstrated in the build and ethos we set out to deliver and Jasmine is a fantastic site manager.”
Jasmine has bought a four-bedroom home at the development after selling a flat in Bath that she and her boyfriend had renovated.
Jasmine says: “We have all bought here for the incredible location which is semi-rural but has easy access to Bath and Bristol. But just as important is the quality of the design and build of every home and I feel honoured to be overseeing the build of homes for Wayne and Jack as well as all our customers. It’s a good job we all get along so well considering we are almost neighbours!”
For Jack, the combination of high specification and affordable price were key and he said that details such as high ceilings, large windows, and a balance of open plan living with more cosy areas really stood out for him.
Jack says: “Backhouse has proven that homes can be better with a design-led ethos rather than the cost-driven approach of some volume housebuilders. I take great pride in saying I live in a Backhouse home and having shown my parents around the show home they have now also reserved here!”
Ian Jones, Backhouse’s managing director, says: “We know that our staff take tremendous pride in helping to create unique developments in terms of site layout, generous open spaces, house design, and quality, but to have three employees buy at one development really does send out a strong message about homes’ desirability.”
There is just one home remaining at Backhouse Midsomer Norton, a five-bedroom detached home priced at £640,000.
