When it came to buying a new home, hockey player and HR manager Linda Spiers’ top priority was a better work/life balance.

She wanted to be closer to her friends and to have easy access to London and to her hockey club in Gravesend and found exactly what she was looking for at Four Elms Place, Abbey New Homes’ development in the village of Chattenden, Kent.

Linda said: “The homes at Four Elms Place were so much nicer than any that I’d previously seen. Besides being beautiful and really high quality, the three-bedroom property I was interested in also had a garage, which definitely added a lot of value and helped me make my decision.”

Linda’s new home is a three-bedroom detached house and it suits her lifestyle perfectly. A variety of great local pubs and restaurants have meant she can meet up with friends on a regular basis, while her hockey team training facility is only eight miles away which is much easier to reach now compared with her old home in Sittingbourne.

She continued: “Hockey is a really big part of my life. I have been playing for a long time so it was important for me to be in a place where I could get to training easily and be able to hang out more often with my teammates outside of hockey training.

“I am so glad I chose to live at Four Elms Place; it’s very friendly here and has that real community feel. The Abbey New Homes sales team were very helpful, and communication was excellent throughout the whole buying process, making the move here really easy.”

Four Elms PlaceLinda paid £340,000 for her new house. After her deposit of £150,000 from the sale of her previous home, she just had to obtain a mortgage of £190,000, requiring a monthly repayment of £804.

Four Elms Place offers a choice of two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom homes completed to a great specification. This stylish development is ideal for those looking to get a foot on the property ladder as well as for growing families looking to upsize.

For families with young children, there are four primary schools located within a mile of the development such as Chattenden Primary School rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted – with several more schools lying within a slightly wider radius.

Chattenden is located less than four miles away from the town of Strood, which includes a variety of leisure amenities such as restaurants, pubs, bars and shops – making it a great place to live. The A2 and M2 road networks are easily accessible, and historic Rochester is only about three miles away. Rochester station offers High Speed services to London St Pancras in as little as 35 minutes.

Prices at Four Elms Place start at £415,000 for a four-bedroom detached home.
