There is "an acute housing crisis" hitting the South East of England, according to Home Truths - the National Housing Federation’s annual report on the housing market in England. But house prices in the region are polarised – with some areas offering far better value for money than others.
The regional edition of the report looks at local data on affordability, unemployment rates and the shortfall in housing supply. It shows that, predictably, the region has the highest house prices outside of London, with an average home costing nearly 11 times the average salary.
Prices vary dramatically from one part of the region to the next, however. Some areas such as Hastings, where the average home costs £180,000, offer buyers far more for their money than others such as Elmbridge, where the average house costs a whopping £700,000.
Here we have brought together a collection of some of the current developments of new homes in the South East, with options to suit a wide range of budgets.
