With some of the most breathtaking scenery in Scotland and relatively easy access to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee, it's no wonder that Perthshire has long been a popular area for house-hunters. Commuters are well served with excellent public transport links and established road networks while golfers and outdoor pursuits enthusiasts are spoiled for choice. A wide variety of new-build homes is available in Perthshire with something to suit families of all shapes and sizes, whatever their lifestyle.

A choice of three different four-bedroom house types is available at Bellway Homes' Inches development in Perth. Prices start from £229,995 for the ‘Victoria I' detached villa with benefits including a living room, breakfasting kitchen, utility room, en suite to the master bedroom and an integral garage. Located in the Friarton area, the site is close to the city centre and is within easy reach of Perth train station.

Those who prefer a quieter pace of life may be interested in Ogilvie Homes' Strathearn View development in Bridge of Earn. The village is situated just four miles south of Perth so remains close to the city's amenities while retaining a village feel and boasting some fabulous scenery. A selection of three- and four-bedroom properties is available here with prices ranging from £169,950 for a three-bedroom terraced villa to £270,000 for a four-bedroom detached property with garage.

Bett Homes has a collection of four- and five-bedroom detached family villas on the market at its Kingswell development in Auchterarder. For example, the ‘Tetbury' house type costs £305,000 and includes a living room, open-plan kitchen, dining and family area, study, utility room and downstairs WC. Upstairs the master bedroom has an en suite shower room and fitted wardrobes while three further bedrooms and a family bathroom complete the picture.

Strathearn View is a Stewart Milne Homes development with one- and two-bedroom homes still available. Nestled in the historical town of Crieff, the scheme is ideal for first-time buyers and downsizers alike. Prices here start from £92,995 for the ‘Rowan' house type - a terraced one-bedroom property comprising an open-plan living room and kitchen, master bedroom with walk-in wardrobe, a study and a bathroom. Alternatively, the ‘Alder' end-terraced home costs £118,995 and also boasts a second bedroom and a downstairs WC.
