Some 85% of the apartments at the luxurious 3 Merchant Square scheme in Paddington, west London, have now sold off plan, according to European Land and Property Limited, the development manager for the Merchant Square scheme.

The development, which last week reached its full structural height, is a mixed-use development comprising six buildings, including the iconic 1 Merchant Square tower.

3 Merchant Square is the third building to be developed following the completion of 4 and 5 Merchant Square in 2010. The 159 private apartments include a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, which are generously proportioned. Residents of 3 Merchant Square will also have access to a secluded roof garden overlooking the canal, as well as a business centre, lounge area and private screening room.

The Merchant Square masterplan will create a new focus for Paddington based around a new waterside garden square. The landscaping will include a new waterside event space, a water maze and a striking new opening bridge across the Grand Union Canal.

Richard Banks, CEO of European Land, the development manager of the Merchant Square scheme, said: 3 Merchant Square it represents another step in the ongoing regeneration of the whole area around Paddington Basin. The sales success at this building highlights the area's appeal, which will only increase as the rest of the Merchant Square development completes around it, bringing new bridges, water features, a garden square and a landmark skyscraper."
