The WhatHouse? team picks its favourite current new build homes from the multitude of developments under constrution in the East Midlands...

The East Midlands has seen rental prices soar since last autumn, leaving the region with higher rents than ever before – and giving many tenants the incentive to take their first step onto the property ladder.

According to the latest Buy-to-Let Index from Your Move and Reeds Rains, average rents in the East Midlands are up 8.5% on the same point last year – breaking through the £600 per month threshold, and showing the biggest leap across the whole of England and Wales.

For those who are considering buying their first home, or even moving to a larger property, we have found some brand new developments in the East Midlands with current availability. This selection includes homes in Derbyshire, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire…
