Supreme show home kitchen luxury as #GBBO names its champion

Posted 7 October 2015 by Keith Osborne

This beautiful show home kitchen is certainly worthy of tonight's Great British Bake Off champion

As 2015’s Great British Bake Off (#GBBO) concludes tonight with the naming of this year’s champion baker, it’s our final opportunity to show you the kind of kitchen luxury you can aspire to in the show home of a new homes development.

This luxury home in leafy Weybridge in Surrey, ‘Alderbrook House’, is ideal for preparing and serving meals for family and friends and its modern layout means that there’s far more to it than just cooking and serving, as Lisa-Marie Mosca, interior designer at developer Newcourt Residential, explains.

“Today’s kitchen is a family’s living space. It’s seen as the heart and centre of every home we build. Over the last few years kitchens have reinvented themselves, they are not only seen as a room where meals are made but have started to become trendy living spaces in their own right.

“We believe that a kitchen designed by Newcourt, and the space it sits in, allows its owners to be a multitasker, parents can be both cooking dinner and spending time with their children, or watching them play in the garden.

“Creating a larger kitchen/living area allows people to embrace a more casual, trendier lifestyle. The ideal kitchen is designed to include a designated cooking area with a large island or breakfast bar along with an area which is large enough to comfortably seat six to eight people around a table. This also provides the perfect setting for homework or entertaining.

“Finally, it’s also important a kitchen/living area incorporates a comfy relaxing ‘snug’ area allowing the users to read, watch TV or even listen to music. All in all, today’s trendier kitchen encourages the whole family to spend time together, which is perfect for the modern day family. “

Designed with family living in mind, ‘Alderbrook House’ provides over 6,000 sq ft of flexible accommodation in which to relax and entertain in equal measures. The open-plan kitchen and living room forms the central hub of the home and the perfect space to entertain. The bespoke Italian kitchen with integrated Miele appliances, Quooker boiling water tap and michalized slate grey doors and panels provide contemporary elegance.

This is complemented by the smoked oak wood dining table, chosen to reflect the colours of the bark in the mature trees outside. The wall of bi-folding glass doors leading out onto the Italian porcelain tiled terrace flood the room with natural light and help to bring the exterior surroundings into the property, allowing a seamless flow into the garden and to the water beyond.

‘Alderbrook House’ is available at a guide price of £3.75m through Newcourt Residential.
