This Saturday, 20 February, Hodson Developments is hosting a Help to Buy event at its flagship Surrey development to assist house-hunters who may be unsure about the government-backed scheme and how they can use it to secure their ideal new build home.

The Help to Buy event will take place at the Viridium development on Frimley Road in Camberley this Saturday from 11.00am to 4.00pm. Financial experts will take their place alongside the Hodson sales team to give visitors one-to-one advice on the new homes for sale at the development and how they can be purchased using the Help to Buy scheme.

Christie Alaimo, sales director for Hodson Developments says: “Help to Buy continues to be an enormous success, not just for homebuyers in Camberley but for tens of thousands of purchasers throughout the country.

“As well as only demanding a 5% deposit, the scheme means more affordable loan repayments as it provides access to lower interest rates than with a standard 95% mortgage. What’s more is that Help to Buy isn’t just a scheme for first-time buyers, it’s available to any homebuyer looking to get a bigger property for less upfront cost.”

Help to Buy shared equity is available on new build homes to the value of £600,000 with as little as a 5% deposit. The government provides the homebuyer with an equity loan of 20% of the price of the property, leaving the buyer to secure a 75% mortgage. The equity loan is interest-free for the first five years and is repayable after 25 years or when the property is sold.

At Viridium, the one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments start at £259,950, with Help to Buy homebuyers only require a deposit of just under £13,000 to purchase. The apartments offer a high-quality specification, private balcony or terrace and allocated parking. They are ideally located for nearby train stations at both Camberley and Blackwater

Alaimo adds: “Just like many of our homebuyers have discovered, Help to Buy really makes the financial prospect of buying a brand new home, a much more affordable reality. Allowing buyers to get more for their money, as well as providing access to more affordable mortgage rates, it’s no wonder the scheme has been so widely used.

“On Saturday we are inviting anyone who wants to find out more about Help to Buy to come and speak to the experts. They will be able to speak confidentially to one of our financial experts and fully understand how the scheme can help them buy one of our apartments here. We are expecting Saturday to be a busy event and so would advise anyone wishing to attend to get in touch to register their interest.”
