Aylesbury is the county town of Buckinghamshire and is firmly in the commuter belt. It’s very popular with people who work in the city but prefer to live somewhere a bit more peaceful with the Chilterns on the doorstep. The Grand Union Canal runs through the town, offering leisure activities along its path. Families flock to Buckinghamshire and its towns and villages for good schools at both primary and secondary level.
New developments on the outskirts of the town give access to Aylesbury Vale Parkway station, with trains to London in just over an hour. Bierton, Watermead and Fairfield are popular residential locations.
Aylesbury has excellent access to the M40, M35 and M1 via the A41 and train services leave for London via Amersham and Birmingham via High Wycombe. The new £42m theatre, the Aylesbury Waterside, is a major attraction for the town, forming part of the wider £100m development of the Waterside project.
