Press release: 19.11.202
The WhatHouse? Awards ceremony took place earlier today at London’s JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel, where the winners of the 21 categories were eagerly announced. The glittering awards ceremony – dubbed the Oscars of the housebuilding industry - celebrated some of the brightest stars in the housing sector, honoured those who won their category and celebrated all of the well-deserved finalists too.
The WhatHouse? Awards, now in their 41st year, shone a light on customer-focused housebuilders and housing associations, large and small. Those who have refused to be bowed amid the unprecedented challenges of 2020 / 2021 and continued to deliver the best new homes in Britain. The calibre of entrants in each category was very high, with Britain’s housebuilding elite and the new build supply chain filling every seat in the room.
The gala luncheon was hosted by one of Britain’s greatest-ever Olympians Sir Chris Hoy and renowned sports broadcaster and presenter Clare Balding – BBC colleagues who presented the cycling from the velodrome at this year’s Tokyo Olympics.

The Judges said: “It has been an absolute delight to witness such well deserving housebuilders and individuals receive their accolades at The WhatHouse? Awards today. Each winner was selected for the outstanding variety, quality, boldness, and integrity of the homes they create. Their accomplishments are even more laudable given the events of the last 18 months and the brutality of the pandemic across all lives and all businesses. We are confident that the winners will use these awards as a symbol of prestige and excellence, the ultimate sales and marketing edge over their competitors and a reassurance to buyers that they are purchasing from Britain’s very best housebuilders.”
