The traditional market town of Stone is 7 miles north of Stafford and 7 miles south of Stoke-on-Trent. Larger attractions nearby include the adrenaline-fuelled Alton Towers and for sport fans, Stoke City Football Club.

Udall Grange is ideal for commuters as the M6 is nearby, heading north to Manchester and south to Wolverhampton. There is also the A34 linking Birmingham to Manchester and the A51 linking Lichfield to Chester. The local bus services are good with many routes that head north to Tittensor, Trentham, Newcasle-under-Lyme and Stoke-on-Trent and Stafford to the south. For train services Stone has its own train station on the West Coast Main Line, heading south to London Euston via Stafford and the Trent Valley line, and north to Crewe via Stoke-on-Trent.
