Tamworth Couple Upsize To Dream Five-Bedroom Home

Young couple Jen and Ellie jump from two-bedroom semi to five-bedroom home of their dreams in one successful move...

Upsizing from a two-bedroom semi to a detached 5-bedroom home was not something Jen and Ellie Holmes had considered possible, but they managed to secure a much bigger property than anticipated thanks to Bellway Homes' Express Mover scheme.

Jen and Ellie began renting their first home together in the town of Tamworth six years ago – a small two-bedroom semi-detached house which they eventually bought.

They started the search for somewhere with a bit more space a few years later, with one of the key things on their wish list being side-by-side driveway parking.

After initially looking at three and four-bedroom houses, they ended up buying a much bigger home than they had imagined at Bellway’s Barley Fields development, off Ashby Road, using the housebuilder’s Express Mover scheme to speed up the selling process for their old place.

Jen (27) said: “We found everything we were looking for at Barley Fields. When we checked out the showhome we both liked it."

“Five-bedroom homes at Bellway turned out to be cheaper than some three-bedroom homes on a few of the other estates we checked out, and seemingly better quality. It was an easy choice for us."

“We also skipped a step on the property ladder by upsizing from a two-bed to five-bed home. It saved us lots of money, and it was only possible with Bellway’s prices."

Bellway’s Express Mover scheme helped make selling Jen and Ellie’s old home stress free. Express Mover users benefit from Bellway instructing two recommended local agents to help speed the sale process, while also paying the estate agent fee.

Jen said:

“Using Express Mover was especially helpful for us as we wanted to move quickly. We just wanted to speed up the process as much as we could. The Bellway staff were very helpful, and we ended up moving quickly.”

The couple moved into their new home in May 2019 and have found the location of Barley Fields ideal for their daily commute. Jen is a logistics manager at Baird Foods in Barton under Needwood, while Ellie (33) is a secretary at Eurotech in Tamworth."

Jen said:

“We were looking for a home that was close to Tamworth town centre, yet out of the way of traffic in a peaceful location. We wanted to find a location that was well situated for both our jobs and had good commuter links."

“We’re now living in the perfect house. I spend a lot of my time in the games room, which is my favourite room of the house. Ellie’s favourite room is the kitchen as it’s really well designed, spacious and practical."

“Our guest room has a bunkbed for when our nieces and nephews come to stay – they love it!"

“Overall, we’ve had a great experience buying our home and the aftercare service is exceptional. We’d absolutely recommend Bellway."

There is currently a selection of two and four-bedroom homes available to reserve at Barley Fields, and five-bedroom homes available at Bellway’s nearby Peels Meadow development.
