Do you, or your clients, build the best new homes in Britain?

WhatHouse? Awards gala Luncheon – 18th November 2022

The glittering awards ceremony – dubbed the Oscars of the housebuilding industry – celebrates some of the brightest stars in the housing sector, honoured those who won their category and celebrated all of the well-deserved finalists too.  The oscars of the housebuilding industry – now in their 42nd year and renowned as the most prestigious accolades in new homes.

The WhatHouse? Awards 2021 shone a light on customer-focused housebuilders and housing associations, large and small. Those who have refused to be bowed amid the unprecedented challenges of 2020 / 2021 and continued to deliver the best new homes in Britain. The calibre of entrants in each category was very high, with Britain’s housebuilding elite and the new build supply chain filling every seat in the room.

The gala luncheon was hosted by one of Britain’s greatest-ever Olympians Sir Chris Hoy and renowned sports broadcaster and presenter Clare Balding – BBC colleagues who presented the cycling from the velodrome at this year’s Tokyo Olympics.

‘I have a huge sense of pride that the WhatHouse? Awards have recognised the key pillars of quality and consistency which are the foundations of our brand and business’

The 2021 WhatHouse? Awards

I hope you enjoyed the show, the day the new homes flag flies highest and many congratulations to all the winners and their supply chains. You are a credit to the housebuilding industry and should be immensely proud of your achievements.

The Award winners once more showcased the variety, quality, boldness and integrity of the homes and the housebuilders that received the industry’s greatest accolades.

Their accomplishments are even more laudable given the events of the last 18 months and the brutality of the pandemic across all lives and all businesses. It is so good to be ‘back in the room’ – back in the Great Room that over many years has seen the very best of our industry on stage, receiving coveted prizes and the plaudits of their peers.

There are, as ever, huge challenges ahead, especially around climate change and the environmental agenda. We seem to have been talking sustainability in our industry since the Ice Age, but now it is time to walk the walk or face the consequences, whether they are from the consumer, or from the sky, earth and sea.

We would like to thank all the housebuilders, suppliers and other industry colleagues who have once again supported this great event in its 41st year, with special thanks to the Awards sponsors and judges.
