Major housebuilders such as Barratt and Persimmon are gearing up for a busy year in the South West, with plans to deliver hundreds of homes in the region to suit all types of buyers.
The South West’s housing market has witnessed a rise in demand following the government’s announcement that stamp duty is set to increase for buy-to-let investors, according to the latest survey by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
The most recent RICS UK Residential Market Survey revealed that demand for new properties in the region rose at the fastest pace in seven months in December 2015. Many chartered surveyors say it is the race to beat April’s stamp duty rise that is the key driving force behind this increased demand.
Here we take a look at some of the options currently available for private house buyers and buy-to-let investors in the South West - including developments in Bristol, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Devon and Dorset.
