The WhatHouse? New Homes Debate in partnership with Show House magazine and London Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

@ Emirates Stadium, London – Tuesday 20 September 2016.

Hosted by William Hague, former Leader of the Conservative Party, UK Foreign Secretary and Leader of the House of Commons.

Influential and respected leaders from the fields of housing, politics and transport will debate the issues that are key to London’s future, in front of an invited audience from the housebuilding and new homes industry. “In one of the most momentous years in the history of British politics and with housing such a vital driver for the UK economy, the Debate will be hosted by William Hague, a highly-respected statesman and political figure, as well as one of the most accomplished and entertaining speakers and event hosts in the country,”  said Rupert Bates, editorial director of WhatHouse.com and Show House magazine.

The Debate, at the Emirates stadium in North London, home of Arsenal FC, will seek to identify practical solutions to help policymakers and decision-takers to be in a strong position to provide housing for London 2020 and beyond. There will be panel sessions looking at the housing legacy of Boris Johnson, as well as how the new mayor, Sadiq Khan, will meet the challenges and the vital role of transport in housing delivery. “I am very excited to be part of this fantastic event. It will bring together some of the best minds in London for a real debate, people who are passionate about making development a force for good in this city, and addressing one of London’s main challenges – creating the additional homes we need at prices that are affordable,” said Tony Pidgley, president of London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and  chairman of the Berkeley Group.
Other confirmed speakers include Colin Stanbridge, chief executive of LCCI and Graeme Craig, commercial development director at Transport For London.

Speakers include: James Murray, Deputy Mayor for Housing and Residential Development; Tony Pidgley, Berkeley Group & London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI); Richard Blakeway, former deputy mayor and housing adviser to No 10; Graeme Craig, Transport For London; Richard Watts, Islington Council; Colin Stanbridge, LCCI; Kate Davies, Notting Hill Housing; James Lidgate, Legal & General; Howard Dawber, Canary Wharf Group; Mark Eden, Regal Homes; Mark Collins, CBRE & LCCI and Richard McCarthy, Capita.
