Posted 23 February 2017 by Keith Osborne

We take a look at topical new homes news from across the country, covering properties across a wide price range...

The new homes industry is in full swing as it tackles the UK housing supply problem, and here are some more news snippets on new developments and homes for sale in the new build sector.

Show home now open at Cheshire development

Elan Homes has opened the doors to a show home at its Westminster Place development in Saighton, around five miles south of Chester, giving buyers in the area the chance to see the scheme at first hand after its off-plan launch in late 2016.

The five-bedroom ‘Mellor’ property has been decorated by professional interior designers Stanza Style, giving a modern and stylish treatment to the property, which stretches over 1,766 sq ft. The double-fronted home has two en suite bedrooms and is centred on an open-plan kitchen/family room with a handy utility room, formal dining room and separate lounge.

Marie Morris, sales director for Elan Homes in the North, says: “We’re a Cheshire-based business and pride ourselves in understanding the local housing market. We also appreciate that viewing is a key part of the home buying process and have been keeping customers updated of our progress as we work towards opening the show home at Westminster Place. It’s very much a family home, but will also give buyers an insight into the quality and finish we offer in all of our properties.”

The ‘Mellor’ is available from £474,995, but prices at Westminster Place start at £279,995, with a choice of three- and four-bedroom homes alongside the show home. Help to Buy is available on every home.

Just three luxury apartments left at Hadley Wood mansion block

Hadley ManorSales of the specious and luxuriously fitted apartments have been keen at Hadley Manor, the CALA Homes scheme on Cockfosters Road in the leafy suburb of Hadley Wood on the London/Hertfordshire border, and just three of them now remain for sale there.

The three-bedroom properties, starting at £1.495m, offer an abundance of space and plenty of natural light, and are in a great position for commuting into central London on public transport and outwards on the M25 and A1.

Helen Colman, sales and marketing director for CALA Homes Chiltern, says: “The development is also within easy walking distance of a host of amenities. A small parade of local shops will satisfy everyday requirements while The Spires Shopping Centre in nearby High Barnet offers many familiar high street names including a Waitrose and regularly hosts a farmers market. There are local clubs for cricket, football, fishing and tennis but the number one sport is unquestionably golf with a handful of prestigious members’ clubs including Hadley Wood Golf Club and The Shire London.”

The £2.15m Home of the Month at the development, ‘The Hampton’, comes with two allocated parking spaces and a landscaped rear garden, with the price also including carpets, curtains, blinds and light fittings.

Help to Buy event in Bracknell this weekend

Hodson Developments is hosting a Help to Buy event on Saturday 25 February at its Fitzroy Collection development in Bracknell, Berkshire, to give purchasers a chance to find out everything they need to know about how the government-backed scheme can work for them.

Prices for the one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments and penthouses star at £259,950, but with Help to Buy, house-hunters only need to provide a 5% deposit and will have 20% of the price paid up-front by the government equity loan, which comes interest-free for the first five years. Each property has its own balcony, terrace or garden, plus at least one private parking space.

Christie Alaimo, sales director for Hodson Developments says: “Help to Buy really makes the financial prospect of buying a brand new home, a much more affordable reality. Allowing buyers to get more for their money, as well as providing access to more affordable mortgage rates, it’s no wonder the scheme has been so widely used.”
