Wales new homes round-up – our top pick of current new build properties

Posted 5 August 2016 by Keith Osborne

The WhatHouse? team looks at new homes developments currently underway in Wales and picks its favourites from north to south...

The latest report from new homes warranty providers and industry standards organisation NHBC shows a dramatic dip in the construction of new build homes in Wales.

With 861 new homes registered in the principality in the second quarter of 2016, numbers are down around 30% from the same period last year, when 1,234 new residential units were registered. On a rolling annual basis, to the end of June, numbers are down 23% from 2015 to 2016, from 5,415 to 4,189.

The numbers for Wales are dramatically  different from the UK as a whole, where 6% more homes in the private sector were registered in Q2 2016 then Q2 2015, and up 1% when combined with the public and affordable sector.

Supply numbers do not help change the shortfall of new homes demanded in the country, but we show here some of the top new builds for sale now through large and small housebuilders across Wales right now:
