The WhatHouse? team looks at launches and events in new homes developments across the UK taking place over the next few days...

With the long-term affect of the snap election announcement on the UKs property market bound to take time  to show itself, we focus more on events and launches taking place this coming weekend at new homes developments across the country…

New show home opens at Midlothian development

A new three-bedroom semi-detached house has been professionally decorated to be the latest show home at the Wester Lea development from Cruden Homes in Newtongrange, a village in Midlothian.

Hazel Davies, sales and marketing director at Cruden Homes (East), says: "Since it opened, Wester Lea has remained consistently popular with young couples and growing families. This was obviously an important factor when designing the new show home, as we wanted to create a stylish look that would appeal to these buyers, but at the same time, be cost effective. Hopefully we have achieved just that.”

The ‘Bonaly’ house has a WC off its hallway, a separate living room at the front and an open kitchen/dining room at the rear of the downstairs, with French door access to the garden. Upstairs are a family bathroom and three bedrooms, including an en suite to the master bedroom.

Each with private parking, there are three ‘Bonaly’ houses at Wester Lea still for sale, with prices starting at £196,000 – which means they all qualify for purchase through the Help to Buy Scotland scheme. There are also two four-bedroom homes still for sale, priced from £218,000.

The show home is open for viewing from Friday to Monday, from 11.00am to 5.30pm.

Part Exchange event in Kent for final homes at Ryarsh Park

Ryarsh ParkJust ten of 64 private sale homes are now available at Ryarsh Park, the Redrow Homes scheme in the North Downs just a couple of miles from West Malling in Kent, and the housebuilder is encouraging house-hunters to consider using their existing home as part of a deal to secure one of these final new homes at an event this Saturday 22 April.

Joanna Wiley, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (South East), says: “The vast majority of homes at Ryarsh Park have now sold and more than 30 of them are occupied, with a growing sense of community. Feedback from people visiting the show home and friends and relatives of our homeowners is that it looks stunning.  But while people want to live here, in many cases they’re yet to sell their current  house and may not even have put it on the market. The success we’ve achieved at Ryarsh Park and the consistent sales rate means that homeowners may miss out if they wait to sell. The good news is we may be able to help them sell up and move on with Part Exchange.”

Subject to some simple terms and conditions, a Part Exchange deal with allow buyers to get a deal without using or paying for an estate agent and by eliminating the uncertainties of property chains, which often see deals fall through.

Among the Arts & Crafts-inspired homes for sale are three-storey ‘Highgate’, priced from £659,995; the double-fronted ‘Blenheim’ from £879,995 and the offering 2,832 sq ft ‘Buckingham’, from £959,995.
