House-hunters in and around Edinburgh are invited to spend Burns Night as the gusts of Barratt Homes, with a special celebration at the housebuilder’s Bridge View development in South Queensferry.

With Scottish nibbles and, no doubt, a wee dram to mark the occasion, Barratt is offering visitors a special deal to reserve a new home at Bridge View for just £99 – with free flooring for all properties reserved on the night. There will be an independent financial advisor on hand, too, to take guests through their personal situation and ascertain their best deals. The event starts at 5.30pm and ends at 7.30pm.

There are nine properties currently available at Bridge View, including the three bedroom ‘Cawdor’ house, a starter home which comes with a generous lounge and open-plan kitchen/dining area. Also available is the three-bedroom ‘Brodie’ style. Homes at the development start at £172,000.

The properties at Bridge View are offered at a reduced rate thanks to a unique scheme introduced by Barratt Homes and the City of Edinburgh Council. The ‘Golden Share’ initiative makes homes more affordable by providing a 20% discount, allowing purchasers to buy at 80% of the market value, a saving that will be a godsend to first-time buyers looking for a foot-up to the property ladder.

Anne Ross, sales director for Barratt Homes East Scotland, says: “There are a limited number of ‘Golden Share’ properties available, which are an excellent opportunity for those who dream of buying a home in 2016.

“South Queensferry, with its independent shops and cafes is an extremely popular location for house-hunters and with a range of added extras, those qualifying for the scheme will secure an energy efficient home which is built to last.”
