Grand Union set to transform Alperton

An ambitious regeneration project in north-west London from developer St George, a proud member Berkeley Group, is creating an exciting new canalside neighbourhood in Alperton...

On completion, Grand Union will feature more than 3,000 homes, over 1,000 of which will be affordable. The new development will provide an array of amenities and on-site facilities as well as a new Canalside Piazza. Over half the development is dedicated to green open space so residents and the local community can also enjoy the Riverside Meadows and Central Gardens.

Occupying the 22-acre former Northfields Industrial Estate near Wembley, Grand Union will rejuvenate this part of Alperton, an area which already has the advantage of an established high street, well-regarded schools and easy commuter links into the City.

Stylish homes & facilities

Grand Union will feature a collection of Manhattan, one, two and three bedroom apartments all complete with a private balcony or terrace many of which offer views over the Canalside Piazza. The homes are set in 11 acres of landscaped gardens and canalside walkways, opening up previously inaccessible parts of the waterways to the local community.

The Canalside Piazza will provide a community hub incorporating cafes, restaurants and bars. Grand Union will also provide an array of amenities for the local area including a nursery, health centre and a convenience store. In all, Grand Union boasts over 40,000 square feet of shops, restaurants and leisure facilities; more than 600 active and passive electric car charging spaces and 1.7 cycle spaces per apartment – as well as pedestrian and cycle routes throughout.

Commuting & business potential

Close to the apartments, a flexible work space called The Generator will house a new business community ranging from tech start-ups to creative studios, with shared facilities encouraging innovation and collaboration.

Just 11 minutes from Grand Union, Park Royal is the largest business park in London, expected to create 65,000 new jobs over the next three decades. Nearby, the arrival of HS2 and Crossrail at Old Oak Common – less than three miles from Grand Union – are set to create a transport super-hub that will boost the area's potential as one of the best connected places in London.

For now, Stonebridge Park Station in Zone 3 is an easy seven minute walk away, placing Paddington just 21 minutes* away and Oxford Circus 26 minutes* via the Bakerloo line. Active residents can cycle along the tow path to Wembley Stadium in 13 minutes* and on to Paddington in less than half an hour.

Leisure time

This is also a prime spot for enjoying high profile events at nearby Wembley Stadium and the SSE Arena, and there’s green space in abundance in the local area thanks to One Tree Hill Recreation Ground and Sudbury Golf Club.
