About Peabody New Homes

160 years after it was established, Peabody is one of the oldest and largest not-for-profit housing associations in the UK. We’re proud to have been around for generations and to help people find their place in new homes, communities and neighbourhoods across London and the Home Counties.

Responsible for over 107,000 homes and 220,000 residents, it is now more important to us than ever to continue our mission to help people flourish by getting closer to our residents and providing quality homes that are more than just a place to live. We are relentlessly committed to creating great places and building sustainable, new homes that stand the test of time. With significant development, placemaking and regeneration expertise, we proudly invest in communities for the long-term.

Award Comments
Providing a rich mix of homes, including affordable extra care accommodation, St John’s Way by Peabody is a well-worked design that delivers new streets, a  square and a courtyard garden.
Resident-driven design has created a range of new buildings and spaces, each with their own highly distinct character. The basic elements of urban life are beautifully designed and delivered and are already working well, creating a buzz
around the new square as life from the buildings spills out on to the street. The new community centre provides a space for the wider neighbourhood to meet and hold events, along with a new IT space to provide training opportunities.
The public art is a triumph, based on residents’ vision of the Past, the Present and the Future, elevating an excellent scheme to the extraordinary.
