Peabody unveils its latest marketing suite at a flagship scheme in south-west London bringing social and open-market new homes to St John's Hill...

Housing provider Peabody unveils its state-of-the-art marketing suite in Clapham Junction today (10 March), welcoming home-hunters looking for a new home at its St John’s Way scheme, which is regenerating its 1930s estate off St John’s Hill.

With the first phase of 67 homes already reserved, the marketing suite will give buyers the opportunity to look at the new homes to come in the second and third phases. The scheme is replacing a scheme of 341 homes built in 1936 with a layout of 528 brand new homes, just minutes from Clapham Junction station, one of London’s most important transport hubs.

Visitors to the scheme (by appointment through agents Hamptons International) will also have a professionally decorated two-bedroom show home to view in the first phase, providing an opportunity to see the build quality and specification first-hand.

St John's Way (Peabody)As with every property on the development, the show home has generous room sizes and a sizeable balcony. There’s underfloor heating in selected areas, plenty of natural light and a designer kitchen with a range of Siemens integrated appliances. Energy bills are reduced through the contribution of photovoltaic cells serving the entire development.

As well as providing more new homes to the site, St John’s Way will refresh an existing garden square and create brand new open spaces dotted with public art. One of its main aims was also to replace the old enclosed site with a new open-plan design that will introduce a thoroughfare from Clapham Junction to Wandsworth Common.

The present community hub will also be replaced by a brand new one, while Phase 3 will also have some commercial space to serve the local area.

The success of the first release of open market and Shared Ownership properties has been put down to Clapham Junction’s enduring popularity with young professionals and families. With a diverse range of pubs, restaurants, cafés, specialist shops and leisure activities, the area has plenty to offer residents of every age and background. Peabody has encapsulated this in the ‘St John’s Way of Life’, which introduces people to the quality amenities in the neighbourhood.

Sarah Butler, sales and marketing director at Peabody, says: “One of London’s property hotspots, Battersea is a popular destination bursting with character, heritage and boutique offerings. We are extremely delighted to be unveiling our latest flagship scheme in such an exciting part of the city.

“The ‘St John’s Way of Life’ is about a lifestyle offering; residents of this new development will have everything on their doorstep including great places for entertainment, some of the UK’s best transport links and an abundance of outdoor space. These are the essentials that everybody considers when purchasing a new home.”
