West Lothian new homes could be the perfect choice for city commuters

Situated in the Central Belt between Edinburgh and Glasgow, West Lothian is a popular location for commuters to both cities. House-hunters looking to find a new home in West Lothian are spoiled for choice by the number of developments and the variety of new-build homes on the market in the area.

Heartlands is a new community close to the town of Whitburn. Bellway Homes has a choice of three- and four-bedroom detached properties available at the site. Prices start from £146,995 for the ‘Glencoe H' house type with lounge, kitchen, downstairs WC, master bedroom with en suite, two further bedrooms, a family bathroom and an integral garage. A new motorway junction has been created at the development, providing easy access to the M8 for commuters to Edinburgh and Glasgow.

The site is within walking distance of the train station, local primary and secondary schools and a large supermarket. Prices here start from £76,496 when taking advantage of the company's shared equity scheme and benefits include open-plan layouts, fitted wardrobes and allocated parking as well as lifts to all floors and panoramic views across the Pentland Hills.

From two-bedroom semi-detached properties to five-bedroom detached family villas there is something to suit everyone at Taylor Wimpey's Ferrier Path development in Armadale. The scheme makes up part of the Armadale Station Community Development project, which on completion will include primary schools, a supermarket, cinema, shops and restaurants. The ‘Maxwell' is a four-bedroom home costing £232,995 and featuring a lounge, dining room, kitchen, utility room and a master bedroom with en-suite shower room. There is also an integral garage.
