New homes under way in West Yorkshire from a brand new housebuilding company

Bridge Homes is a new name to the Yorkshire property scene and it is making its mark with 30 new homes just outside Wakefield...

Work has started on a new development of 30 new homes in Stanley, near Wakefield, West Yorkshire, the inaugural project for new housebuilder Bridge Homes.

Bridge Homes was founded in 2014, intending to “create quality spaces for living and develop areas with integrity”. St Swithins’ 30 plots feature eight different home designs, with a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom properties. The housebuilder calls its ‘village-green’ design concept “an alternative to large scale housing developments”.

St Swithins is a partnership between Bridge Homes, the local authority (Wakefield Council) and Wakefield District Housing (WDH).

Joint venture manager at Bridge Homes, Rob Smith, says: “We’ve taken great care to design homes and surroundings that create a community atmosphere, and planning permission has already been submitted for a similar second development. The partnership with the stakeholders has provided a unique proposition and paves the way for future housing projects.”

The show home is due to be ready in April 2016, with full site completion expected by December 2016.
