Hospital urgently appeals to construction industry for protective masks

Posted 26 March 2020 by Katie Sakka

Residential property consultant Matt Fleming, founder of Aylesworth Fleming, has appealed to the construction industry for protective masks, after an urgent call from a surgeon friend at Northwick Park Hospital in Harrow, Greater London.

The surgeon wrote: “My colleagues at Northwick Park and central Middlesex hospitals are desperately short of protective masks. I have found out that certain masks used in the construction industry are suitable. They are type N95 (FFP 3) masks and if you know anyone who would have access to them we would be very grateful.”

Fleming, who posted the message on LinkedIn yesterday, said he’d already had a great response, with the industry rallying round to help.

“This is one way we can help our awesome front-line medical staff and their patients. I have already had a message back from the hospital saying ‘thank you. This will definitely save lives.’ It is important the masks are type N95 (FFP 3). They are desperately needed.”

As time is critical, if companies who have these masks available could send them urgently to the below address:

FAO Mr Matthew Sala
Department of Orthopaedic Surgery
Lev 5, St Mark’s Block
Northwick Park Hospital
Watford Road
Harrow
HA1 3UJ
