Home Tech Week – Smart showers

Posted 7 July 2016 by Helen Christie

With technology in the home advancing further all the time, it is now even simpler to customise your home to your needs...

Bathrooms are an area of the house that were primarily functional, but more and more, they are becoming a focus of the house. Luxury living, stylish wetrooms and inovative gadgets are becoming more popular as Brits look to improve their bathroom space.

With homes becoming smarter, and with property developers including more smart technology features in their designs, the bathroom is an area that is benefitting. There’s nothing less appealing than the thought of getting out of your warm cosy bed and then standing around waiting for your shower to warm up in the morning. However, Mira Showers has come up with a solution to this.

Using a wireless controller, the Mira Vision Dual allows you to programme your shower to reach your preferred flow and temperature, and then you can pause it and then reactivate it once you’re ready to step into the shower. It has several programmable functions that you can adjust to suit your lifestyle, including a warm-up mode, shower timer, eco setting and a bath fill mode. There is also the chance to set a maximum temperature for increased safety for all the family. Additional wireless controllers can be located up to 10 metres away from the shower valve to give flexibility to any bathroom design.

Homes are getting smarter every day with the intention of making life easier and more streamlined. WhatHouse? has looked at whether property developers need to get smarter throughout the home, and the bathroom is clearly an room that is embracing this.
