Chichester has an enviable selection of highly regarded schools in both the public and private sector. Portfield Primary Academy is within walking distance of New Fields, and is rated ‘good’ by Ofsted, with The March CofE Primary also rated ‘good’. A little further away, Jessie Younghusband Primary is rated ‘outstanding’ and is well worth the extra journey time.

The annual Festival of Chichester is a four-week celebration of arts and music, held every summer, while the Sloe Fair visits every October, bringing thrill rides and carnival fun.


As an historic walled city, Chichester offers all your shopping needs within convenient walking distance, all centred around The Cross in the centre of the city. You’ll find all the major retailers here, as well as a fascinating range of quirky independent shops and stores tucked away down the side alleys.
There is a general market in the city centre every Wednesday, along with an award-winning farmers’ market on the first and third Friday of every month. The ancient city also makes the perfect setting for a charming Christmas market to end the year.
Closer to home, the Portfield Retail Park is home to the likes of Marks and Spencer and BHS, as well as electrical, DIY and furniture stores.


The main south coast arterial route, the A27, wraps itself around the city, passing close to the development, and links with the M27, M3 and M275. Chichester city centre is around a mile away with the beaches of Bognor Regis, Selsey and The Witterings around six miles, Portsmouth around 18miles and Brighton and Southampton both around 30miles. The flights of Gatwick Airport are around 45miles away to the north east, or an hour by direct train.
Trains from Chichester Station, less than ten minutes’ drive away, reach Portsmouth in 25minutes and Brighton or Southampton in around 50minutes. There are also direct services to London Victoria, via Gatwick, taking an hour and a half.
