Amenities

There is a choice of convenience stores close to Nicker Hill, including a CoOp and a Sainsbury’s Local, with most of the major supermarkets represented in the city.
Keyworth has a large health centre on Bunny Lane (Sat Nav NG12 5JU, call 0115 937 3527) and a choice of two dentists - Keyworth Dental Practice, in The Square (Sat Nav: NG12 5JT, call 0115 937 5828) and Treeline Dental Care, on the High Street (Sat Nav: NG12 5AA, call 0115 937 2226).

Dining

Keyworth’s Le Petit Four Francais offers quality French cuisine, while for less formal dining, you can enjoy a curry at Indian Nights or some tasty pub grub at The Salutation.
Nearby Plumtree is home to the popular Perkins Bar & Bistro as well as the Griffin gastro-pub, while The Plough at Normanton and The White Horse Inn at Ruddington are also well worth the trip.
Naturally, Nottingham City centre has a much wider range of restaurants, with something for every taste and budget. From the highly regarded Restaurant Sat Bains which holds not one but two Michelin Stars, to a wide range of friendly family favourites, you’ll find a meal to match every occasion.

Leisure

Keyworth has a strong community focus, with a number of sports clubs and societies active in the village. Keyworth Leisure Centre has a pool and various sports courts, while golfers can enjoy a round at Stanton on the Wolds Golf Club. If you prefer to watch sport than take part, Nottingham is home to test and county cricket at Trent Bridge, as well as football at Nottingham Forest and Notts County.
Out in the Nottinghamshire countryside you’ll discover green gems such as Keyworth Meadow Nature Reserve and Attenborough Nature Reserve, while the city is home to a wide range of cinemas and theatres, including the Motorpoint Arena, the Royal Court and the Nottingham Playhouse.
For a day out with a difference, step back in time at Nottingham Castle, get your skates on at the National Ice Centre or take off to Leicester for the National Space Centre.

Shopping

Keyworth has a small selection of local shops in and around the High Street, but for a real shopping trip, head for nearby Nottingham. The city has a large pedestrianised centre with a number of modern shopping malls including Intu Broadmarsh and Intu Victoria Centre, along with the Exchange Arcade and many smaller shopping centres.
For out of town shopping, there are several retail parks dotted around the main ring road, including the Riverside, Castle and Victoria Retail Parks. Clifton Triangle Retail Park lies just to the west of Keyworth.
Nottingham has held a traditional market for over 800years and you can still find bargains to this day at the Victoria Centre Market, open daily Monday to Saturday.

Transport

Keyworth lies just off the A606 and close to the A46, both giving swift access into Nottingham City Centre. There are regular bus services both into town and to the two high schools in West Bridgford as well as regular trams available from the park and ride at Clifton.
Nottingham is around six miles, Loughborough and Melton Mowbray around 12miles and Derby around 20miles. If you are heading further afield, East Midlands Airport is just twenty-five minutes’ drive away.
There is no longer a station in Keyworth, but Nottingham is very well connected, with trains on the East Coast Mainline to London and Edinburgh, as well as cross country. You can also step back in time with the Great Central Railway, which runs historic steam locomotive services to Loughborough at weekends in the winter and daily in the summer months.
